In Super Mario 64, there are Power Stars that can be earned outside of the other 15 Courses. These secret stars are hidden throughout various areas of the castle. Some are just given to you by Toads; while others require a bit more work to earn. Check out this page to see the list of all the secret stars in Mario 64. The Princess's Secret Slide

  • Where: The Princess’s Secret Slide can be accessed after obtaining one Power Star. With one Power Star in your possession, head to the 1-star door on the second floor of Peach’s Castle. Jump into the Princess Peach painting on the right side to enter the course.
  • How: To obtain this star, you must simply make it to the end of the slide and hit the yellow!-Block to obtain the first Power Star.

The Princess’s Secret Slide Revisited

  • Where: The Princess’s Secret Slide can be accessed after obtaining one Power Star. With one Power Star in your possession, head to the 1-star door on the second floor of Peach’s Castle. Jump into the Princess Peach painting on the right side to enter the course.
  • How: Make it down the Princess's Secret Slide in under twenty-one seconds, and you'll be rewarded with this Power Star.

The Secret Aquarium

  • Where: From the castle's entrance hall, turn right and enter the doorway that leads to theJolly Roger Baycourse. To the right you can just barely see a small alcove. Backflip up into the alcove to enter this secret area.
  • How: Collect all eight Red Coins in the course to gain this Power Star.

Bowser in the Dark World 8 Red Coins

  • Where: After earning eight Power Stars, go up the stairs of the castle’s main hall and use the big star door on the left to enter a long hallway. Head into the hallway; the floor will open, causing you to fall into the course.

Tower of the Wing Cap 8 Red Coins

  • Where: After collecting ten Power Stars, stand on the sun in the center of the castle's entrance hall. Toggle to Mario's camera and look at the beam of light on the top right corner of the room.
  • How: Collect all eight Red Coins in the course to gain this Power Star.

Cavern of the Metal Cap 8 Red Coins

  • Where: Enter the course Hazy Maze Cave. Once inside the course, use the sea creature to use access the double doors in that area.
  • How: Collect all eight Red Coins in the course to gain this Power Star.

Vanish Cap Under the Moat 8 Red Coins

  • Where: After accessing the basem*nt, ground pound the pillars to drain the water from the castle's moat. The entrance to this course is through a hole in the moat on the left, outside of the castle.

  • Where: Unlocked after obtaining one Power Star in Dire, Dire Docks. Once unlocked, the entrance appears in the same hallway as the entrance to Dire, Dire Docks.
